Myers named George Nigh Executive of the Year Five Oklahomans recently received honors for outstanding service to their profession and for their support of
the Oklahoma Society of Association Executives.
Dean Myers, executive vice president of the Sheet Metal and
Air Conditioning Contractor's National Association of Oklahoma (SMACNA), was awarded the group's highest
honor, The George Nigh Association Executive of the Year. The award is named for the former governor
who was the first president of OSAE in 1963. Myers thanked other association executives
for mentoring him when he began his career. "I am very honored to receive the George
Nigh Association Executive of the Year Award," said Myers, "and I am proud to share the award with so many association executives who have dedicated their careers to association management and public service." Myers graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of
Science degree in Trade and Industrial Education. Myers is also executive vice president of the Oklahoma
Environmental Balancing Bureau and a Certified Manufacturing Technology Engineer. "I
congratulate all of our award winners," said Sheri Penner, CAE, OSAE president and executive director of the
Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers. "We are inspired by their career achievements and their service
to OSAE." OSAE, founded in 1963, provides continuing education and training to employees
of the state's trade associations, professional societies, foundations, chambers of commerce, convention bureaus
and their affiliates.
